African American Celebrity Deaths

It's World AIDS Day, Celebrities to Die Digital Deaths - The Snob Blog  September 26, 2013 – 02:40 pm

To honor World AIDS Day celebrities like Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams and Justin Timberlake are ending their "digital lives" until 1 million dollars is raised for Keep a Child Alive (KCA), an organization which provides critical anti-retroviral medication for children and their families affected by HIV/AIDS. If you can't afford to die an artful death for a worthy cause and give up your Twitter feed, you can simply do your part to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS by working to end the stigma of getting tested regularly. The easiest way to do this is to get tested regularly yourself and encourage others to do the same. Also, volunteering at a local clinic wouldn't be to shabby either.

While statistically, new HIV cases have stabilized in some communities, it still remains high among African Americans, and is especially deadly to black American women.

More after the jump.

In other HIV/AIDS related news, a new drug has been found to be effective in preventing the spread of the disease, but you might have to sell off your first born to afford it.

Worldwide 33.4 million people are living with HIV/AIDS with more than 1 million people in the United States diagnosed. Forty-six percent of people living with HIV in the U.S. are African-American and AIDS is the number one killer of black women between the ages of 25 and 34. For more statistics, .

Tyra Wants to Get Black Actresses Paid

Tyra is upset about Hollyweird’s treatment of black actress and discusses it in the new issue of Essence:
“Believe it or not,” she says with a laugh, “I was just on Essence.com.” Tyra was looking for more information on December’s cover subjects, actresses Nia Long, Gabrielle Union and Sanaa Lathan, because, she says, she’s concerned that the women are receiving unfair treatment in Hollywood. “Sanaa, Nia and Gabrielle are strong, powerful women and they are all very successful in our industry. So it really upset me to read about how the money they make doesn’t match up

If TV reflects reality, are we to infer that

99.9% of all asian american women are with NON asian men? Because that's what I see on TV...every single asian actress (LOST being the SOLE exception) is paired with a NON asian male, whether in a TV show or a TV commercial.
What up wit dat? A total racist propaganda against the poor asian male, perpetuated by the studios, and supported by the sellout asian female actresses who go right along with it and don't stand up for their asian brothers. But then why would they, seeing as most (self-hating) asian women are literally the bedfellows of white/black/latin men.
